Reimagining Volvo's mobile TPMS feature and next generation infotainment system
During my gap year from 2020-2021, I spent 6 months as an UX Intern at Volvo Cars APAC in Shanghai. I worked on infotainment and mobile app experiences, creating proof of concept prototypes for interior pitching, and audited designs from suppliers.

I ideated, prototyped and delivered a proof of concept high fidelity prototype of a potential TPMS feature on Volvo’s mobile app in collaboration with the R&D department. This prototype explores what the mobile app would look like if Volvo adapts MICHELIN Selfseal tires (a tire technology that reduces tire punctures by filling holes with built-in sealants): the TPMS page would reflect data on the tire’s leakage status and provide alerts and instructions when necessary. Prototype was presented to stakeholders and drove strategic decision in continuing feature.
An exploration of using widgets to modularize, simplify, and personalize Volvo's infotainment system and integrate with Volvo’s voice assistant to become the interaction center of the vehicle. I was responsible for ideating, prototyping, and delivering high fidelity prototypes of potential widget use-cases, including entertainment, utilities, planning, integration with other services, and socializing. Prototype was presented to Volvo’s Global Head of UX and provided important insights for the next generation’s infotainment system.
